About Us
Our mission is to ensure physician directed care for Castine, Penobscot, Sedgwick, Brooksville, and the surrounding communities and to provide public health and education programming/outreach.
Who We Are
The Castine Community Hospital Corporation, founded in 1928, is an independent nonprofit separate from the town of Castine. We control an endowment to provide for community healthcare, which we have historically used to incentivize physicians and other healthcare workers to accept roles at the Castine Health Center and to provide for educational programming. CCHC also owns the grounds and building where the Castine Health Center operates and leases the building to Northern Light, who operates the health center.
